Congrats to Our Ride and Decide Graduates!

Tuesday, August 20th, 2019

Remember when we told you about the Construction Scholars Ride and Decide Program, a summer program that provides high school students ages 16-18 with the knowledge and skills to develop an exciting new career as a craftsman? Well, if not, you can read about it here.

We are pleased to announce that 27 students have since graduated from the program, 2 of which worked with our team directly! For seven weeks, students spent each Monday in class learning the fundamentals of the industry. The students then worked Tuesday through Friday with industry partners — jobs included carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work!

We are so proud of the hard work these students put in and can’t wait to see where their new-found skills take them!

Ride and Decide

Thursday, May 2nd, 2019

Our team here at Ace Hardware Home Services is pleased to announce our latest partnership with the Construction Careers Academy at Catawba Valley Community College!

What does this mean?

This means that we will be participating in the Construction Scholars Ride and Decide Program! This summer program provides high school students ages 16-18 with the knowledge and skills to develop an exciting new career in construction. This is obviously a great choice! (Though, we might be a little biased!)

The ultimate goal is for students to explore a career as a skilled craftsman, such as an electrician, carpenter, plumber, and HVAC technician.

Our team is excited to see what these young students have to offer and we are beyond pleased to have bright new minds entering the field.
