About Canella

Canella Heating & Air Conditioning derives its name from the two Canella brothers, Craig and Curtis, who started the company in 1989. From humble beginnings in Bethlehem, NC, the company has grown into being Catawba Valley's most respected provider of HVAC equipment and service. As a home-grown family business, we live and practice the values that have made this a great place to live: honesty, hard work, professionalism, and caring for our neighbors and our environment.

Craig, who has a background in Mechanical Engineering, began to differentiate his company from other providers of heating and air equipment and services when he studied with the Advanced Energy Corporation, Raleigh, and became a trainer in techniques to help homeowners improve the return on their energy investment through the application of building science practices. Subsequently he was asked by Duke Power to help with diagnostic testing in residential applications. Through this experience he gained respect in the Greater Hickory areas as one of the top experts in matters of energy-efficiency, air quality, and environmental responsibility. As Education Chair of the Home Builders Association of Hickory-Catawba Valley, he was responsible for the development of courses that provided technical training in green building practices and energy efficient construction for most of the top builders in the area. He not only has taught others, he has applied these principles to his own business.
